The zoomies. The post-bath crazies. Energy burst. Why does your dog go crazy after a bath? One of the first reasons your dog could be going crazy after a bath is the relief. You think your pup smells like vanilla and citrus—ahhhh, lovely—after a bath, but he thinks he smells downright awful.
A dog will do his level best to get rid of the new smell and return to his favorite musk—poop, dirt, grass, and doggie. You might be amused when your dog starts running around the living room at random moments. I sometimes get frustrated or cross when Baby wants to wrestle after a long hike. Even the best trained dogs will experience frenetic random activity periods now and then.

Zoomies after a bath is their way of showing relief that bath time is finally over. When Laika plays with other dogs she almost always gets the zoomies — running around the yard, tongue out, looking happy as can be.
We have a young puppy! He definitely has the zoomies after his bath and really anytime he gets wet!! Sometimes at night he runs around the tables as fast as he can; sometimes sliding into them. I do get worried at times! He is now 14 weeks old and still has them!!
